Now is your chance to own a robot vacuum. CNET's best-rated models will be available for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping with apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot to date is the Roomba J7+. Its biggest innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It makes use of AI to recognize objects like charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to send you pictures of the objects that it encounters, so that you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills easily leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it with a voice.
The design is also better than the other models. It has a sleek, top piece that appears like a toy rather than a loud and obnoxious robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal System also self-empties, which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests the j7+ performed quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able to capture sand, small gravel and even a bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
The j7+, though not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it isn't able to clean the stairs, is a good option for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and often it's difficult to know whether the update is functioning until you've seen it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors A hybrid is the ideal choice. This type of robot typically includes a built-in water tank that allows them to mop and vacuum your home at the same time. They also have a number of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they tend to be expensive at retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.

Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our favorite robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not perform to the standards. It's the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't include some of the expensive features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent option when you're willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is noticeable gentle around obstacles such as table legs and walls and walls, which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where many cheaper robot vacuums aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.
The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled via only a few buttons on your device or via the Roborock App. With the app you can begin and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map or change the labels of rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once in place, emptying the bin is relatively simple. robot cleaner comes with a huge LCD screen which is helpful when setting up schedules and changing settings. This feature isn't necessary for the majority of people, but it can help effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and function are some of the most advanced available however, it's also expensive.
It's a tiny base station that looks great and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's biggest selling point is how it automates numerous tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot clean and charged.
And its vacuuming is impressive, too. It's the only robovac I've used that has done well at picking up dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a clean zone for plush carpets.
Although it doesn't have as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app or as many in-app shortcuts as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and robot vacuum that's worth the higher price tag.
If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are many other options available. A lot of eufy models are significantly less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides a similar in-app experience with additional features such as the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and a better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpet flooring, and mopping functions for a low cost. It's easy to set up, simply connect one of the side brushes, turn it on and connect your charging dock. The app walks you through the steps needed to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be located near an outlet and have enough space to move.
The G30 is a compact device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, meaning it can fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is a little less ostentatious than some rival models, with a sleek black finish and three physical buttons: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The primary aspect that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of immovable objects in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. If it requires a recharge, it returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning where it left off.
The eufy G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life. It also offers superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It also comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating bulky materials such as cereal.
